Poor HD picture

I had 2 new v6 boxes fitted three days ago. Both are attached to 50" Panasonic full HD plasma TV's. The picture quality on the HD channels is noticeably poorer than my old Tivos seeming a little fuzzy. The ticker tape on Sky News HD is definitely out of focus and the movie channels are nowhere near as crisp. Any ideas?

Re: Poor HD picture

Interesting, my V6 is connected to a 46 " Panasonic full HD plasma, set to 1080p, and the picture quality is an obvious improvement on my Tivo.

Nice to be able to post again, after their mistake (removed by the Censorship team).

Re: Poor HD picture

...I'm afraid I have to echo the above posts - my HD picture on my V6 is nowhere near as clear as it was on my TiVo.  My TV is also set to 1080p

Is your picture noticeably darker too?

....not sure about darker - probably about the same but I do notice that HD and SD content is virtually the same.  I had BBC 1 HD on the other night, and they just cut to a red 'Whats Next' screen where it had the BBC logo in white, at the bottom of the screen. I then sat right next to the tv, and looked at the logo and it was all blurry around the edges - NO WAY was that HD??!?!? Smiley Indifferent

......something definitely not quite right somewhere (I already have 1080p selected in the menu)..

Re: Poor HD picture

Deans6751, you were told to use 1080i which you said made a difference in the thread you made. Why are you now using 1080p?
