New new v6 remote not working

My new v6 box, less than 24 hours old has stopped working. The red light does shine up on the remote but nothing then works. Have reset the box twice. Got engineer coming tomorrow so let's what he says!

youre not alone.....

 

Have a look at this board and there are loads of us having the same issue

 

It does seem to make a difference if you hold the remote differently

You would laugh if you have seen how many different ways we have tried to hold the remote - no joy.  The thing is if this is a common fault, why aren't virgin owning up to it???

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you are having an issue with getting your remote control working. 

 

As simple as it sounds, have you tried repairing the remote with the V6 box? If not follow these steps to do this:

1. Go to Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Remote Control Pairing.

2. Press and hold the Info button for 7 seconds until the light at the top of the remote goes solid green then flashes green twice.

 

If this doesn't work then the issue could be related to a possible known issue.

NKE00008484: V6 (Remote not responding): The box no longer responds to key presses from the remote control, 

 

Usually a reboot resolves this so if it's not then we may well need to look at a replacement. Try the tips here first:

Hi All

New to this forum but found this article really useful. I received my shiny new V6 box yesterday, problems with the remote immediately. Tried a full reset and paired the new remote several times it works for between 10 minutes and maybe an hour. Fortunately I still have my old Tivo box & remote, I have paired my old remote with my new V6 box and it seems to be working perfectly. The light did not go green but still works fine. Got an engineer coming out in 5 days hopefully he will just replace the remote & its a quick easy fix. In the meantime thanks to this post I can enjoy my new box trouble free.
