New V6 starts in green background

When I switch my V6 on from sleep mode, it starts with audio and video but video is in a green background. I have to go to restart the box through the help and settings menu. Why is this happening and how do I resolve this issue?

Re: New V6 starts in green background

That's a new one, but then again the box is just out, I think you may have to ask for a new box

Re: New V6 starts in green background

Hi Stu_a_white,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear of the issue you are having with this.

Does this seem to be happening on any channel you select once the box comes on or when using an app, such as Netflix?

Also is your V6 box connected via wifi or an ethernet cable?

Come back and let me know.

Thanks,

Re: New V6 starts in green background

Hi Kath,
When it happens it is every channel and stays when I change channel.

The box is connected via Ethernet cable.

Thanks

Re: New V6 starts in green background

Hi Stu_a_white,

Thanks for coming back to me on this one Smiley Happy

Looking further in to this, it looks as though this should only be happening when the box is connected via wifi. As you're connecting via ethernet can you try doing a power cycle of the box, hub and TV for me.

Turn all 3 of these off at the mains. Turn the hub back on and wait for this to be ready. Then power on the V6 box next and once that is completely up and running, power on the TV again.

Come back and let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Re: New V6 starts in green background

Where does this "off at the mains" idea come from? Surely that's not relevant.

Re: New V6 starts in green background

Hi Sephiroth,

Thanks for your post Smiley Happy

I'm just working of the workaround listed for this fault. It's usually worded like this as, like myself, you may have each of the devices plugged into an extension lead. Turning the power off to that alone means all the devices will come on together but we want them to come on separately and in order to ensure each makes it's handshake with the other.

This method is something we use for TV Anywhere too and a normal reboot doesn't work but this sequence does. Smiley Happy

Hope that explains things.

Thanks,
