How to use find my remote feature of v6?

I've read you can make your remote beep if you lose it - I haven't lost it but wanted to try the feature.

For the life of me I can't find out how - any advice?

thanks

Press Channel Up on the box for 10 seconds. Then press any button on the remote to stop the beeps.

Re: How to use find my remote feature of v6?

Has she paired the V6 remote with the box, or is it just using IR?

TV: XL+SkySports V6
BB: 200Mbps SuperHub: Arris

Re: How to use find my remote feature of v6?

The installer claimed he did so, they do work kind of out the room but it could still be IR bouncing back into room.

He also claimed he set them up to control the TV but only did for one so I did the other.

He offered to leave an instruction book for the original Tivo's claiming it  was the same, I told him we have 4 of those books but I highly doubt its the all the same.

Also did not run the Ethernet to second both like CS guy said he would.

My phone locked on to the HUB3 at 2.4GHZ right next to it so I checked to see if 5GHZ was enabled using an app and it is but wonder if he separated the SSID's.

I need take a laptop down and have a right look at the HUB3 settings and I will be running a Ethernet cable under the floor where the Coax already is to other box.

If need be I will red the info in the menu to see hot to pair, also is the white/red LED a button cause it feels so when I press it?

EDIT: I did ask if he paired the Bluetooth and he said yes and I asked if they will work on each other he said not for a few secs till they auto pair.

I tried this when he left and it did as he said, one remote will not work the other box till it flashed for a few secs then it works so I assume they are using Bluetooth.

Re: How to use find my remote feature of v6?

Just back from my mothers, I paired both remotes again using menu in V6's.

Now both beep but the signal is poor, near line of sight same as IR or at most boucing of a wall like all my IR's can do very well.

No way could this be used in a cupboard like the installer or claims made online in reviews.

Will not matter for her use but still...

Re: How to use find my remote feature of v6?

I tried to use the find the remote feature yesterday and did nothing. 15 mins later remote found and me cursing such a useless feature as it clearly did not work.
Bizarre we have to do something extra after a fresh install surely it is the default?
Anyway I will try this when I get back home later with the pairing first.

Re: How to use find my remote feature of v6?

Hi,

The remote is paired with the box. I cannot get any beeping no matter how long I hold the channel + button on the box ? Guess it's a gimmick that doesn't work lol
