Re: Frequent loss of sound

I'm also having the sound issue, whether I'm watching live or recorded TV. Not having pixelation issues though. Have had sound issue for at least a month and i just thought it was a connection issue, but seeing others are having it and are getting their boxes changed, maybe i should get mine booked in too

Re: Frequent loss of sound

Hi,glad I am not the only one. Virgin media just told me it's not an issue with them. But it appears that I am not the only one so it probably is yet another issue with virgin media.
Maybe they will take note of this and take responsibility???

Re: Frequent loss of sound

Please virgin media, can you escalate this as an urgent issue,it's very frustrating watching the TV and getting constant gaps in sound through my surround sound system. It was working fine till recently

Re: Frequent loss of sound

Hi all,

Thanks for your posts and apologies to hear you are having sound dropouts Smiley Sad

In order to see if there is any pattern here between you all, can you let me know the following please:

What is the make and model of your surround system / sound bar?

How are you connecting it to the V6? HDMI or Optical?

What sound settings do you have selected on the V6?

Come back and let me know so I can look at this further for you.

Thanks,

Re: Frequent loss of sound

I have a new Sony BDV-N7200W set up HDMI from TV to sound system
Sound seems ok at present.
I did lose wifi for the last 48 hours and only just come back

Sound is dolby digital as recommended by engineer.

I have been set up for a senior engineer next week as set up by your colleague on the forum

Re: Frequent loss of sound

I have dolby digital set on my V6.  I have the V6 connected to my Samsung smart TV via HDMI, with the sound sent from the TV to my Sony 5.1 amp via optical cable.  I have tried disconnecting the amp and just having the sound output to the TVs built-in speakers, but i still get the sound cutting out. I have no problems with the sound from anything else

Re: Frequent loss of sound

Frequent drops this evening during Battleship on 4HD. V6 connected to Yamaha RX-V681 via HDMI. PITA!

Re: Frequent loss of sound

I'm getting sound drop out too.   Definitely via optical out to my AV receiver, but I haven't noticed if it's also happening via the hdmi to my telly.

Re: Frequent loss of sound

I've left my sound up on the telly today and the sound drop out is only via the optical cable to my av receiver.   The sound via hdmi to the telly doesn't drop out.
