Firmware

Hi.
Has my v6 receiver received a new firmware or software update during the night?๐Ÿค”
I'm asking as my v6 was powered up when I woke at 6am this morning.

Do you mean powered up as in the indicator light turned white, or just that the HDD fired up?

If it was just the HDD, these boxes do this on a regular basis every few hours.

The easiest way to identify if you have new software is to state which software level you are on from Sytem Info.

That is indeed a new software level, being piloted on a limited basis.

Yeah. Indicator light turned white.
Does this happen when the v6 receiver has received an update? Or is just when general maintenance has been done on the network and servers?

Was it due to network and server maintenance?
Hardware version: 2048.0
Software version: 20.7.6.RC7-VMB-11-C68
Platform: DCX960

My V6 is still on 20.5.8.1.RC17-VMB-11C68

Wonder if there is much differences....

I've just spoke to virgin tech team.
The guy explained the updates are been rolled out region by region over next few weeks.
The update is for improved wifi experience
Also fix for using other devices while in low power mode.
+ other improvements to the v6 receiver.
And bug fixes.
Apparently virgin do updates every 2- 3 month. Depending on problems they find.
