phone line getting please check line chord

Hi

My phone is displaying "Please check the line cord" and will not make or accept any calls. Everything seems to be plugged in correctly and it was working fine the other day and I haven't moved anything around since. People that try to call me say it just rings endlessly, but I don't hear anything. My internet is working fine, and the service check comes up OK in My Virgin Media.   The phone is working in  different house but I get no ring tone at all.

Re: phone line getting please check line chord

Thanks for checking this Cooperang,

I think the best way forward would be for us to arrange an engineer appointment for you to get this resolved.

I've sent you a private message so that we can get this sorted.

Hope to speak to you soon,

Nat_J

Re: phone line getting please check line chord

Thanks for posting Cooperang and apologies for the issue experienced.

I've had a look into this and the line state is also appearing as active from this end.

Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting the handset or tried different equipment?

Speak soon,

Nat_J

Re: phone line getting please check line chord

Hi - we have the same problem for the 5 weeks. Our phone has a message saying 'check line chord'. We've changed the phone and it hasn't made a difference. I've tried running the phone test on the virgin website but it stops when it gets to 99% and doesn't give a result after 5 mins. Can you please advise what we should do? Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Community!

Really sorry to hear you're having landline trouble.

Thanks for checking the handset. The next step now wold be to book a technician to check this out for you. I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange an appointment.

Speak soon Smiley Very Happy
