Virgin landline only working intermittently

My landline keeps dying, recently several times in a week, sometimes for just an hour other times for much longer.  Callers say it just rings and rings and doesn't connect.  Obviously cant report the fault at the time and when it comes back on and I do report it I just get told there's no fault showing.  This is worrying as I'm a disabled pensioner and need the phone in an emergency.

2nd time recently our phone line has been dead. It's not a fault in our home as a neighbour also with Virgin, is currently disconnected, so don't offer to make an engineer call. I can't get through on customer support AT ALL and I want to end my Virgin account as a result of this, it's not good enough.

Sorry to hear that you're also having trouble with your service. 

 

I'd like to help with getting this resolved for you. 

 

Are you able to receive calls at all? Is it just outgoing calls that are not working for you at the moment? 

 

Also have you tried disconnecting the handset from the socket and/or tested a different handset?

Hi Nat_J I can neither call out or receive calls or get through to Virgin. 2nd time recently and as I said, it's not a fault here, it affects my neighbour too. The online fault checker shows all ok!

There is no further information available concerning a fault within the area for this service at the moment. 

 

You can, of course, continue to monitor the performance of this in the meantime, or as mentioned in my post, I am happy to arrange an engineer appointment for you as a precaution.

Thanks. I'll see which telecoms provider is signed up with as his line works. All neighbours on Virgin media are experiencing a fault. Broadband is fine. Please close my account.

Hi, no fault shows up online and no not the forum, my Virgin Media account. Landline is still dead.
