Phone line not working

Just got virgin tivo box today as part of broadband tv and phone bundle. All is well apart from no dialing tone on phone. It is plugged into wall correctly. Any ideas?

Really sorry about this.

 

I've located your account and it appears that there is no availability currently within the supporting network infrastructure for a line to be connected at your property.

 

I've escalated this over with a separate team for more information and I'll make sure to update the thread as soon as I hear anything more.

 

You will not be charged for this service while it is inactive.

Hi again Bannett86,

 

Further to my previous post, I've heard back from the team regarding this.

 

I'm afraid there is still no capacity for the landline to be installed and no pending disconnections that we can reserve to the account for this at the moment. This currently sits with capacity planning and they will be sure to update you once capacity is available.

 

I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

Hi,

 

The person who had the property before me had a virgin phone line and I have plugged the new phone into the existing virgin connection box.  This should work automatically, shouldn't it?

Thanks for the response, this wouldn't work automatically by plugging it in as the line needs to be connected externally, which there's no capacity for at the moment.

 

As soon as that changes, a member of the team will be in touch to discuss.
