Number you have dialled has not been recognised.

I have recently set up my landline however when dialling a number I get the "number you have dialled has not been recognised" message. I get the dialling tone when just pushing the green button however can't make or receive calls. It's definitely plugged into the Virgin media socket...

I am using a BT handset if that maybe is causing the problem?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Number you have dialled has not been recognised.

Welcome to the Community Starrs14,

This does indeed sound like a strange one.

Do you know the model number for your handset? This shouldn't normally be a problem, but I'll have a look into this for you, to be sure.

The line state appears to be active on this end.

What happens if you try to call the landline from a mobile device? Do you receive any messages or anything?

Speak soon,

Nat_J

Re: Number you have dialled has not been recognised.

Hi Nat_J,

It is a BT 1100 Single (item code 082866)

If I call the landline from my mobile it just rings out to the voicemail.
