No phone tone after power cut

Following a power cut today, we now have no land line.  There is no tone.  I have run a fault on the website but it says that there is no fault on the line.

Surely a fault must be present at the exchange ?

Do I really have to wait 3 days before I can be at home for an engineer?

Re: No phone tone after power cut

Once again we have had a power cut and once again we are without our phone service. The power has been back on for over 24 hours but the phone service is still out. I have done a status on the phone and it says there is no fault and asks if we need an engineer. Surely every power cut doesn't need an engineer.
