New installation - phone not working

We had our new Virgin Media service installed yesterday, moved from Sky & BT.
All seems to be find apart from our phone line not working. We brought our number over from BT. The number just rings out and goes to a voicemail, not ours!! We have a dial tone but error message when we try calling a number. Any help gratefully appreciated!

Sounds like your phone is still plugged into the BT socket not the virgin

Thanks for your reply. I've just checked and it was plugged into the BT phone line box. I have just changed it to the VM box and now we don't have a dial tone at all, phone says check phone line?

Many thanks also for completing this check.

 

I've had a look into this and it appears that further work is required to be completed via the physical cable.
