New House, phone issues

Hey All,

New Virgin Media customer here, a bit of background...

Just moved into a new house, signed up for Phone, Broadband and TV through Virgin Media and was recommended the Self Installation pack when ordering online as the previous owners also had Virgin so all cabling should have been in place and ready to go

Everything arrived and TiVo / Broadband is working a treat. However, it seems the previous owners in their wisdom have ripped the phone socket from the wall and therefore can't get telephone. Furthermore, due to the house having an extension previously, the wiring coming into the house for the Virgin connections are simply loose wires. No interior wall boxes. Again, the TV and Broadband connection is fine, but the phone is essentially down to the 4 coloured wires, no face plate or wall box.

Guess the engineer will simply fit a new wall plate, but a little worried we will be charged as the cables don't seem to be "Virgin's own equipment"

Any thoughts?!

Thanks,

Robin

There shouldn't be any problem with this. There is always the risk with this type of self-install where wiring is either found faulty, or not where it is required. CS usually treat it as a fault callout, & not chargeable.
