Messages constantly from a network unable to transmit numbers.

Even after paying monthly for withheld number blocking, I am still getting calls from a number unable to transmit numbers. Up to 5 a day. What to do next, very tempted to get it disconnected.

Hi shazzbot,

It's very difficult to stop nuisance calls coming through these days. Unscrupulous companies are getting smarter at getting around any blocking systems we put in place.

The usually apply a kind of mask over their number to make it look like an ordinary residential call.

If it gets to the point where it's unbearable, we would be able to perform a number change.

All the best

Josh

Re: Messages constantly from a network unable to transmit numbers.

Hello shazzbot,

Welcome to the community Smiley Happy

I have been able to locate your account and I can see that you have the withheld caller rejection feature active, I have also made a test call from a withheld number and I can confirm this feature is working just fine.

This feature will only stop people calling who are withholding their number, for example people who are dialling 141 before your telephone number or have a number withheld feature already set up on their line.

It will not stop most sales calls because of the systems that they use and if they're calling from abroad the numbers are usually lost over the telephone exchange so when you're dialling 1471 you're most probably hearing messages such as the number is unavailable. I would recommend registering with a company called TPS who specialise in reducing the number of sales calls and I have added the link for you below.

*Telephone Preference Service*

I hope this helps, any further queries just let me know and I'll look into it for you.

Kind regards

Rose

I am a member of the TPS I also have international call blocking on my phone. I am ex directory too, what more can i do to stop callers from numbers that are unable to transmit numbers. Also you cant report to TPS without a number or how are they going to be able to find them.
