been with virgin 3 days. discovered the phones dont work. we have 4 phone bt sockets throughout the house. so looked behind the tv discovered the new VM phone socket plugged phone it works . however all the other sockets dont work . the phone now has to sit in front of the tv .20 years at this house the phone socket has never been behind the tv for a reason. why didnt the engineers use the original main socket ? why didnt they explain this to us upon fitting? phoned the automated service, the only way to speak to someone was to go via the 'cancel virgin' route. i could have another socket but would have to pay £99+vat. so now stuck with the phone in front of the tv in the corner which looks ridiculous and 4 dead sockets throughout the house .
the BT and the VM phone systems are separate - be it VM or BT they will only fit a master socket so if you want the extension sockets that are connected to the BT master socket to work you will either have to change the wiring or get someone to do it
its not difficult - its 2 wires - work out which is the BT master socket and disconnect the extension sockets from it - then connect those sockets to the VM one - modern master sockets have a extension terminal in them so you are not messing with the input
