Line Rental Cap for Over 65's & Disabled

Hi everyone, saw on the One Show last night that VM have a line rental cap for over 65's & disabled customers. If you are eligible your line rental is capped at 17.99 and will not be 19.99. Just to add that according to the One Show, VM charges the highest for line rental compared with other providers. I did phone Customer Relations just now with regards to this and was told that the line rental cap is only available if you have a phone line only through Virgin Media. How bad is that. If you have any additional services like broadband and TV, you are not eligible Very unfair policy imho. Perhaps it's time for VM to rethink this one.

Started with Bell Cablemedia in the early 90's and now with Virgin Media. How time flies...

Re: Line Rental Cap for Over 65's & Disabled

Its meant to be a version of "BT Basics", which is a subsistance service for those that struggle to keep a phoneline account going, let alone anything else. Therefore, just as with the BT version, it is only a standalone option.

Hi nodrogd, thanks for your helpful reply as always. From what I gathered from the report on the One Show, Ofcom are looking into rising line rental costs. Let's see if it makes a difference ! Smiley Happy
