Landline not working

I have just noticed that I can't make outgoing calls from our landline. There is no dial tone, but if I call the landline from my mobile it does ring.

I've done the online test and it says there are no problems, but there is clearly nothing wrong with the actual handset.

Any suggestions?

Re: Landline not working

If you've gone through the on-line tests and it can't determine a fault you can still arrange for an engineer's visit on-line on the same page.

Re: Landline not working

Hi there newbs76,

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the forums, and say that I'm rally sorry to hear that you've been experiencing a loss of phone service. I'd love to help you out.

I've been able to locate your account and have run some tests on your line, and can see no reason why you should be having this issue right now. I'd now have to ask if you've been able to try another phone on the line, or your phone on a known working line, just to be able to eliminate the phone from being at fault. As the next step would be to arrange a technician to call out and investigate further.

I've sent you a private message in order to get the ball rolling with this, please look to the top right of this page where you'll see a purple envelope icon, click on this and you'll see my message.

Many thanks and apologies once more.

Re: Landline not working

Update: Although the landline rings, it doesn't connect if you answer it.
