Landline in EH53 0RN was deteriorating but now dead

Hi,

Unfortunately our phoneline has fallen over again despite being repaired at the end of October 2016. Over the past few months "crackling and general noise" on the line reappeared but this morning I received a call which I could not hear and now the line is completely dead. Ran the service check and it came back with an inconclusive result.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

regards

Mike W

Re: Landline in EH53 0RN was deteriorating but now dead

Hi Mike1874

I'm really sorry for for the problems you're experiencing with your telephone service recently, I've been able to locate your account to take a closer look at this from our end for you.

We're not seeing any problems with your line at the moment, have you been able to test your handset at all? By trying an alternate handset on your line or your handset on an alternate line?

We're looking forward to hearing from you and getting this issue resolved.

Craig

Re: Landline in EH53 0RN was deteriorating but now dead

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your prompt response, I have tried a different phone with the same result.

Difference from last time round is that the phone was showing a message saying "check phone line" however this time it is showing normally.

I have also tried the additional socket in the bedroom to no avail.

When you ring the number it is ringing at your end but not the house end.

And just to add to the confusion the sky box is showing phone line connected!!

And that's all from me, I look forward to hearing back from you but this is certainly a strange one!!

regards

Mike Woods

Re: Landline in EH53 0RN was deteriorating but now dead

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the response. I'll sort this out while Craig is away.

As you've already tested you handset, the next step is to arrange for a technician to take a look at the line for you. I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange an appointment.

Speak soon Smiley Very Happy

Re: Landline in EH53 0RN was deteriorating but now dead

Craig /Josh,

Just to let you know the engineer came out on Thursday and resolved the issue. Wasn't straightforward but fair play to Chris (ID59013) he stuck at it until he got our phone line back.

Thanks for all your help

best regards

Mike W
