Landline dead

My home landline has no dial tone and the phone is saying check phone line.  Have phoned Virgin and an engineer is booked for Friday 10th February in the afternoon.  That is a week to wait and far too long to be without a landline.  Not very happy.

Re: Landline dead

Hi gypsyqueen,

Thanks for posting an update!

I'm really sorry for the trouble you've had with this, I know how frustrating it can be to wait for a technician!

Keep an eye on the line and give me a shout if you get any more trouble.

All the best! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Landline dead

Hi gypsyqueen,

Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your landline.

I've located your account and the earliest appointment we have at the moment is Friday 10th. I'll keep an eye on the account and let you know if we get a cancellation between then and now.

Speak soon Smiley Very Happy

Re: Landline dead

Problem was fixed on Friday and we have our landline back.  However it was far too long to wait for an engineer and it was only a 10 minute job because our line had been disconnected when an engineer  came to fix the same problem with our next door neighbour's line.  It seems logical  that when a line is disconnected the engineer does a check that all the lines are connected before leaving the box.

Anyway all is well again.
