Landline SMS setup

Hi,
I’m trying to setup the landline SMS service on new BT 8600 phones. Can anyone advise of the send & receive service centre numbers as I am told they can differ for different models of phone. I have tried texting “register” to 00000 but it fails. I have fully working called ID.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Landline SMS setup

Hi Danube1978,

Welcome to the community.

I have added a link here which explains how to send/receive tests on your landline.

I hope this helps.

Re: Landline SMS setup

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I understand everything in the link you provided, my issue is that the handset(s) are pre-programmed with the BT send and receive service center numbers, I am having a hard job finding the VM service center numbers so I can program them into the phone. I hope this explains my situation more clearly.

Dan

Re: Landline SMS setup

Thanks for your reply.

Are you able to remove the BT number from the phone and leave it blank?

Once you send your first text you will be automatically registered so you don't need to have a service centre number set up in your phone.

Kind regards
