Intermittent phone fault

Hi
We have had an intermittent line fault since at least Friday 11th December.

No dial tone.

We rang the phone from our mobile and the landline did ring but when answered there was nothing. The mobile continued to ring.

I have an engineer booked for Friday 18th.

Then when I checked the phone last night I had a dial tone (intermittent).

But can now dial out and receive calls.

Is the intermittent dial tone an issue?

As the fault has 'righted' itself what are the chances of it occurring again and leaving us without a landline for days?

Does anyone know whats going on lol ?

Regards

Tony

Re: Intermittent phone fault

Hi badgerlad,

Welcome and thanks for posting. I'm really sorry to hear you've been having trouble with intermittent dial tone.

I'm having some trouble locating your account to run some checks. Do you still have the engineer booked? If you do I would leave the engineer attend to take a look at this for you as its been on and off up to this point. If you'd like me to take a further look at this for you I will need some details so we may have to take the conversation private.

Speak soon

Re: Intermittent phone fault

Thanks for responding Stephen.

Yes the engineer is still booked for Friday between 4pm-7pm

I will post his findings on here and if I need your assistance I will let you know.

Cheers

Tony

Re: Intermittent phone fault

Engineer just left.

Fault was a corroded wire in tee box outside.

He changed the connectors so hopefully that has solved our problem.
