No tone on home phone since yesterday and also no Virgin TV since yesterday. Cannot get hold of anyone at V Media.

I've had a look into this and it appears that you're currently affected by an area fault in regards to the TV service, under the fault reference F005017679, with a review set for 23/01/17.
This issue does not involve the telephone, therefore, I'd like to arrange an engineer visit to look into this further.
