Fed up with timewasting calls

Had enough of cold calls and want to change the number I've had for over 20 years!

Held on 150, for 40 minutes over three calls I might add, trying to speak to customer services today.

Where to next?

Re: Fed up with timewasting calls

register with http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html you can do both mobile and home home to help reduce cold calling.

however, even changing to a new number won't cut out calls forever. i knew someone that worked for a cold calling company, they went by numbered lists and usually have no idea who they are phoning. if registered with tps companies can get fined if they call you, but overseas calls aren't part of this and would continue to call. to emphasise this, i had a payg. no one knew the number and i never made a call or text. it was just used to update twitter for business. i got lots of cold calls on that.

ive had someone asking for richard for two years who wants to move to australia and they want to help. blocked the numbers many times but new numbers keep popping up. .

Re: Fed up with timewasting calls

Hi Nat,
Overdue a reply, sorry.
Have sourced a good priced BT8600 phone so we'll see how it goes . First day and it blocked 3 unwanted calls according to the display .

Re: Fed up with timewasting calls

James,
TPS registration was done years ago and when mentioned to callers makes them hang up . The system doesn't prevent the initial interruption in my time . Thanks for your thoughts though .
