I have tested your line from here and everything looks okay so just before I arrange a technician can I confirm whether you have tried a different handset in the Virgin Media socket to rule out any equipment fault?
sorry for delay in reply, but we needed to purchase a cheap phone to check if it is the phoneline or the phone. Definitely is the phoneline. On further investigating we realized the cover appears to have come off on the outside where the telephone connection is, which may explain the issue. How can I arrange a engineer visit please?
