Beeping dial tone

I have a beeping dial tone on my landline. I have checked the messages but there aren't any. I have also tried as others have suggested on the forum to ring my own number and leave a message so that I could delete it but the message says you are unable to leave a message. What can I do next?

Re: Beeping dial tone

Dial 174 to check that the automated voice confirms your line is still connected to your phone number.  VM installers seem to be very good at muddling up the connections in the street cabinet.

Re: Beeping dial tone

Hi there adgroom,

I'm really sorry to hear about the fault experienced.

Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting the handset or tried different equipment?

Speak to you soon,

Nat_J

Re: Beeping dial tone

Thanks for letting me know adgroom,

I think the best way for us to proceed would be to arrange an engineer visit to resolve this fault experienced.

I've sent you a private message so that we can chat some more.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

Nat_J
