BT8500

I have recent purchased a bt 8500 handset as my other phone had (I thought) died. I purchased the new phone bt 8500 as it was an upgrade that allowed me to block calls. I connected the phone to find that it was the line that was at fault and booked an engineer. The engineer found that easily at the box fan repaired the line. Unfortunately my new handset does not work and I have recycled my old handset. I have tested my bt 8500 at a friend's house and it works perfect on a bt line. Bt have advised this handset should work fine on virgin lines. I have tried my line on another handset and that is also fine. Does anyone have a fix for this. I have booked an engineer to check this but am I wasting people's times is this the millennium bug Smiley Happy any help would be appreciated as it's a new phone that I would like use.

Cheers James

Re: BT8500

I've been using the BT8500 for a long time now on my VM line without a problem.

Have you tried check my line on my.virginmedia.com as line faults that at

one time were fixed may have come back again.

If you have a mobile phone, could try

 edit; correcting phone number

Additional: Could you explain what the symptoms of it not working are?

Re: BT8500

Hello JBOWDWN,

Thanks for posting.

I think a technician visit is best in this case as you have already tested the equipment and know that the telephone itself is working fine. Please let us know how you get on or if you require any further help after your visit.

Kind regards
