Unfortunately many of the links on the VM main site point to the old address https://www.virginmobile.com/vm/login.do which, when it is working, returns only a 301 "permanently moved" message pointing to the correct address. Having once received that, a browser will usually cache the result and not bother trying to connect to the virginmobile.com address. So if the server is offline you won't notice unless you clear the browser cache (or have never tried the address.) That means it will seem to work for some people but not others. I guess it may have caused some confusion.
