why must I delete and reinstall smartcall whenever there is an update?

Every time there is a new update when I try to use the smartphone app I am told to update, meaning I have to delete the existing app and reinstall because it doesn't appear to want to update in place!

 

This also means that I have to go through the unnecessary routine of removing my phones registration from my virgin account and registering to get a new code.

 

This tends to happen (as today) when I didn't have a phone signal but had wifi access and needed to make a call!

 

An app that could be a great help to your customers has become unreliable! 

 

Time to sort this out!!

I've had Smartcall installed for about a year and it worked fine up to about a month a go when it stopped working, uninstalled and setup again and was working fine, tried again today and it has stopped again. It will load OK and let you dial a number - that is where it fails and I just get a spinning circle, if I run Doctor - it fails at the Smartcall service test and a error box pops up saying "unfortunately smartcall has stopped.

Uninstalled and reinstalled, all working fine again :-)


Also have Smartcall installed on a iPad and that has worked flawlessly.

I've looked into this on my side and I can see no reason why this is happening I'm afraid.

 

We've received no similar reports detailing this.

 

I would advise to reset your phone for this. Before doing this, download PC Sync to back up the phone here.

 

To reset the phone go to Settings > General > Backup and Reset > Restore factory settings.
