My mobile signal at home has become very poor. I can barely make calls and they always drop after a minute or two. I've checked the signal checker and it says that I should have a strong signal, at least 3G.

give Virgin Mobile customer services a call (free) on 789 from your Virgin mobile if you can get a signal.
Or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone (Standard Rate call or included in any minutes).
