Re: sim swap

I'm not surprised that someone is already saying that their service has degraded since they got their new sim, afterall virgin mobile won't be using EE so it's not surprising really.

Anyone else noticed a degrade of services since they've started using their new sim?

Virgin Mobile IS still using the EE network. They just now have their own operating system which in theory can only be a good thing.
(Although there are bound to be one or two teething problems).

Re: sim swap

I have not noticed, neither has my wife noticed any difference in signal/quality yet.

Quote from @AlexKid

"Virgin Mobile will still be using the same frequencies and masts owned by EE/BT.

They just wont be reliant on them from now on for everything else"

Re: sim swap

@teabag

Are you getting 4G easily when not using WiFi, and are texts sending as normal plus websites loading as normal on 4G?

He also mentioned crackling on calls!

Re: sim swap

@teabag

What about the complex things such as packet data jitter?

Re: sim swap

I'm waiting on my sim arriving as per my message today, I'm abit hesitant about this now.
Partner has hers and will no doubt be inserting her new sim tonight, I'm hoping she doesn't have similar issues as @Edward568

Re: sim swap

@AlexKid

There shouldn't really be any teething as everything should have been tested before handing these sims out to paying customers.

Re: sim swap

Can’t say i have noticed any downgrading since putting in the new sim yesterday. I must get a strong EE signal.

Re: sim swap

@Jomodu

I did i was constantly getting 38-41meg down and 18-20meg up

But after the sim swap it's going below 10meg a majority of the time now.
