"Mobile network not available"

For the last 2 days I cannot make or receive calls or texts. The message I get when I try to access internet or make a call is: 

"Mobile network not available"

I use a Motorola Moto G version 2. This phone can take 2 x SIM cards. The signal indicator for my Virgin SIM is zero, and for the second SIM is full strength. 

So far I've tried: 

- switching off and on again

- switching off, removing SIM, re-inserting SIM and switching on again.

You could try putting your post code into the EE network status checker to see if there are any known issues in your area:

Hi jabrenna,

have you tried swapping the SIM's around? i.e putting your Virgin SIM in the other slot.

Thanks, good suggestion, but "We’re not aware of any network issues in the area you’ve searched. If there are problems, we’ll update this page as quickly as possible".

good idea, but no luck - still the same: good signal from foreign SIM, zero for Virgin...

Got onto support - they told me to connect to EE, and problem was solved...
