my Xperia PROTECTED

My Sony Xperia z3 ran out of charge. On recharging I cannot use the phone as it is automatically going to the my Xperia PROTECTED screen. When try to I authenticate with a google account as requested,  it returns to the my Xperia PROTECTED screen and says Incorrect username/password.

Can't use my phone at all. HELP! please

Could it be an older version of the password?
This is serious as Virgin or Google won't do it for you as it's security, all is not lost
Turn off your Xperia Z3: press power key and select “power off” or press and hold power key for a few moments.
Power on your device and when the LED notification lights turn on press several times Volume Up or Volume down buttons.
At the end, your Xperia Z3 will be rebooted into recovery mode.

I'm not sure the option to choose to be to the reset option from there, but there are not many to choose from, factory reset I thinks called
