Hi Clare69,

Welcome to the forums Smiley Happy I want to help get this sorted for you.

To enable MMS, you'd need to send a picture message to your own number. Can you do this and let me know how you get on?

Thanks,

Mat

I received similar, although in my situation I have MMS sending blocked which was my own decision, but what I find strange is that the sender didn't have this in their sent items, so would you not think that this is a scam?

Re: https://virgin.mms.ee.co.uk/virgin/ is not recognizing password to retrieve a message

Of course it's not a scam. Did either of you read the original post?

Clare69's phone cannot receive MMS because it's just a basic phone. It probably never occurred to the sender that the facility isn't there.

Mat_H - she hasn't tried sending MMS to enable the service because her phone can't do it. Not that it would help anyway - the post was asking how to retrieve the MMS from the website. It's too late to sort out the phone, even if it was capable: The message has already been sent and needs to be picked up in a browser.

Clare69 - try the three permutations of your phone number - the one that begins with 07, then try 447 and the last nine digits of your number, then try +447 and the last nine digits of your number. Don't use spaces. Where it says "Password" on the website, that's where you enter the ID code that was sent to you by text.

If it doesn't work, try a different browser. When I was struggling, it wouldn't let me in using Firefox. I had to switch back to Microsoft Internet Explorer before it would work.

If you get a successful login, it's still the worst website design ever. It's not intuitive as to what you do next to pick up the message, and it's a year since I had to go through all this so I can't quite remember what I needed to do, but getting past the login page is the first step...

So in my case then if its not a scam who originally sent the texts as the number that showed it was from when that person checked their sent items there was no sent texts there, and more importantly they said they never sent them.

In your case it may well be a scam. Your case is different to the OP.

The OP quite clearly states their handset isn't MMS capable and makes no mention of the sender. One has to assume that the MMS is a valid one in the absence of information to the contrary.

Hi paperclip

It's not good to hear about the message you received to pick up an MMS that you weren't expecting.

I've now responded to your other thread on this topic here:

Exactly the same thing has happened to me on two occasions, the last one being last night (16/02/15). Sorry, I do not trust this site!
