cost of data roaming in Europe

Off to Norway soon.  It's IN Europe for Virgin mobile charging purposes. I might need to use data while there, but might not, so I'd rather not buy a pass in case I don't need it.  I'd like to know, please, how much it costs to use data roaming in Europe if a pass has not been bought.

Re: cost of data roaming in Europe

I'm fairly sure you have to have a pass to use data abroad, but it can be purchased when there.

Re: cost of data roaming in Europe

You can only use data if you buy a pass. You can buy the pass when you get there, if you need it. They start from just 35p, so it's not a huge financial commitment...

Re: cost of data roaming in Europe

Hi fishball,

as others have said, you'll need to purchase an EU Data Travel Pass.

Information on this can be found here:

Re: cost of data roaming in Europe

Thanks to all but what I'd like to know is what happens if data roaming is on with no pass bought. In those circumstances, will data roaming work at all? Or is it blocked or disabled? If it will work, how is it charged for? Thanks for all help.

Re: cost of data roaming in Europe

Hi fishball,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

If you don't have an active EU Data Pass then you simply won't be able to get online. The cost of the pass has been included by AlexKid.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks
