ever since I got my PAYG sim I'm receiving calls and texts from the previous owner of the number. Apparently he/she/they were very popular and many people had their number. I want to replace my number without losing the existing credit. Is it possible? What should I do?
give customer services a call (free) on 789 from your mobile.
Tell them your problem and ask.
If for any reason they seem unwilling to change your number. Ask if you buy another PAYG SIM (about 99p from almost any shop or supermarket) and register this "new" number on your current account, will they transfer the balance.
(Transferring credit from one number to another on the same account used to be very quick and simple but since a change in their system it's not so easy).
Post back and let us know how you get on

Hello, reporting back Very helpful operator on 789, they will be sending me a new SIM in 2 days to replace the existing one along with a new number. I was told that remaining credit will be transferred; I'll check upon activation. They could also pre-activate the SIM, but I would have been without a phone for these 2 days
