Won't give me an upgrade due to failed credit check

Basically my contract is due to run out on 21th January, about 2-3 months ago I was contacted to say I was due an upgrade.
We went through the process and everything was fine then I got told I had to wait a few days to see if I got accepted to get a better phone and more 'credit'. 3 days passed I rung back up and I had been accepted. We went through the process again, to be then told I had failed a credit check.
I got in touch with a compant to check my credit score and its 291 which to be honest isn't that bad.
I paid my mobile bill every month and even before it was due and my account has always had 'credits'
Has anyone been through the same? What did you do? What was the outcome?

Standard complaint on here as Virgin apply tough rules

You can contact the underwriting team creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk and that may take some time

Or try elsewhere

Sounds harsh I know
