Windows 10 Upgrade

What are Virgin Media's plans to be pro-active about the Windows 10 upgrade on mobile phones?

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

No chance, they can't get Denim sorted as without it W10 will not work.

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

fyi....I have just been looking at the Winodws 10 OS using a virtual machien running locally.

Avaliable using https://www.modern.ie/en-us

It would be nice if Virgin was ahead of the tech curve on this for mobiles

They don't have 4G and have a victorian attitude to tethering - what makes you thinks they want to be ahead of the tech curve on anything?

Yes I have to agree with you, they seem to have let customers down in being at the fore front of a lot of technology areas except thier broadband

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

I know I have be asking for an answer on the denim patch but at some point it would be nice to her Virgin media's point of view on the windows 10 release this year.... God forbid maybe even a commitment! LOL

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

Okay I have left it a little while before asking again. have you got any more information?

Is it okay to try out the Windows 10 developer preview on my Virgin phone, does is break any warranty or support contract?

Does Virgin Media have plans in place to look at rolling out Windows 10 when its released? or are you going to wait until a bunch of customers complain over and over again before you start to think about it a year later?

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

Hi Krothu,

Thanks for your post Smiley Happy

I'm currently chasing this up with our software team. The likelihood is that entering the developer program will not void your warranty. But I'll confirm as soon as I get the definitive answer.

With regards to releasing Windows 10, I understand your frustration with the ongoing Denim update. I promise we'll do all we can to release further updates as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade

To get back to your original Shipped with software, just un-enrol from the Developer Preview or beta testing and reset your mobile.

Cheers...
