Why don't virgin allow conference calling?

I figured this would be standard feature and certainly needs for my business

I'll need to switch provide is this can't be done
-------------------------------------------------------------

TIVO desperately needs:

1/ Consecutive recording should be made by the ONE tuner not TWO
2/ List programmes by time/date (not channel) - People will watch their favourite film when its on, they wont wait until it's on BBC1 and thats the way it should be displayed
3/ Wishlists should have option to record in SD
4/ Wishlist should be able to find Movie 'Premiers' (where last aired = TODAY)

These could be programmed by a degree student in half a day

Re: Why don't virgin allow conference calling?

Virgin only supply a basic phone service. And 'extras' like Call Forwarding and Conference calling do not come into the equation.

If you need these things for your business then, yes, you will need to change providers.

Re: Why don't virgin allow conference calling?

But they do: I've used it before, not for a while mind: It isn't well advertised

If you're the organiser:

  • Call 07953 966 966 from your Virgin Mobile phone.
  • We'll ask you to enter your Virgin Mobile phone number, followed by the hash key (#). This is also known as the Group Identity Number.
  • If you've chosen a 4-digit PIN we'll ask you to enter this too, followed by the hash key (#). If no PIN has been set, just press the hash key (#) to get started.

If you're a caller:

  • Call 07953 966 966 from any phone.
  • We'll ask you to enter the organiser's Virgin Mobile phone number, followed by the hash key (#). This is also known as the Group Identity Number.
  • If the organiser’s told you a 4-digit PIN we'll ask you to enter this too, followed by the hash key (#). If no PIN has been set, just press the hash key (#). That’s it!

Callers can enter and leave the Group Call at any time. Each time they do, we'll let you know. You'll hear a beep followed by the number of callers left.

Re: Why don't virgin allow conference calling?

Has anyone actually tried it? Reports of it being broken have been circulating for some time.

Re: Why don't virgin allow conference calling?

I just tried it and it lets you set up as the organiser and then tells you there is a problem and goodbye....
