Why do some callers get my answerphone immediately?

When my daughter calls me she always gets the answerphone, even when I'm sitting with her and my phone is on and has full signal.

Why?

Hi Perrypoole,

could you have accidentally blocked her number / added it to your phone's "black list".

This would cause any calls from her to go straight to answerphone if your voicemail is active.

Hi Perrypoole,

that will depend on the make and model of your phone.

Look in the instruction manual if you have it, type the query into Google or post on here.

Do you get a missed call alert on your mobile?

If not then this is an unresolved problem that dates back to the merging of Orange and T-Mobile. You can try switching of your voicemail altogether, in which case callers will get a destination unreachable message.

Re: Why do some callers get my answerphone immediately?

Hi Perrypoole

I just wanted to check if you managed to get this sorted?

One way to easily check if the issue is a fault on the network or an issue with the way the handset itself is configured (perhaps due to accidental 'blacklisting' as AlexKid suggests) is to test the SIM in another handset.

If it does appear to relate to the handset, just let us know which phone you have and we'll do our best to help with this Smiley Happy

If you have an iPhone, you can check blocked numbers by going to 'Settings' > 'Phone' > 'Blocked'. On Android devices it can vary depending on the handset, but the option will be within the settings in you 'Phone' app. You should be able to find it under 'Call Rejection' or similar.

Let me know how you get on.

Many thanks
