Why all the porting issues

I recommended VM to my partner who was a long standing o2 customer.
Order placed fine on 14th Nov, PAC code provided same day.
Port promised Tuesday 17th Nov - nothing happened
Phoned Wed 18th  - told system error and will take up to 48 hours
Phoned Fri 20th - told there is a know issue porting from o2 will go to porting team on Monday.
Phoned Monday 23rd - told it was a sim card error replacement to be posted.
Tuesday 24th texted 789678 READY to deact old temporary sim
Not yet the full 24 hours but still no port and still using the temporary sim

Like many other people we wanted to retain the old number for a reason, in our case it is particularly important for medical issue reasons with the hospital and doctors having the number having the number as the main contact number.

From reading this forum this is happening a tad too often. Not very impressive.

Just an update on this port issue.

Now Friday 27th

Temporary number still active and port still not completed.

New sim card still dead as a dodo and shoing as engaged when phoned.

My partner was also about to switch from Sky BB and Phone to Virgin before all this happened, not any more.

This really is poor Virgin Mobile.

Thanks Mat,

Just an update on this I phoned again on Friday 27th as we still had no actication on the new sim.

It appears the new sim card had not activated. The deactivation of the old sim had not worked.

The operator activated the sim while I was on the phone.

So the issue is now resolved.

I had strongly recommended VM and the whole issue has lost several potential new customers now which is a shame.
