Voicemail charges in USA

Going to USA.  Will I get charged if people phone me and then go in to my voicemail?

Is it possible to switch it off?

Re: Voicemail charges in USA

Yes and yes, you are charged the incoming call rate to be notified and the outgoing rate to hear the message.
You can either add a password to the voicemail or stop the servive via 789 or your web account whilst you are away

Re: Voicemail charges in USA

Hi peterfidler62,

further to J0hn's answer, if you log into your Virgin Mobile account then click on  the "Plan and device" tab.

Go to "Manage my services" here you will see your voicemail setting (ON / OFF).

Make the change by moving the "switch" (Click the other side of the rectangle box).
