Virgin SIM not working in my iPhone

Hi all I have got my new SIM card on Monday just gone and went to use it in my iPhone ( that is unlocked) and it will not work what can I do?

Are you sure your iPhone is unlocked? Usually only those bought direct from Apple remain unlocked, all others lock to the network of the first SIM inserted.

Well I know it was on 02 as the girl I brought it off had that network on it am running giffgaff as we speak and I have also used EE SIM on the phone and it worked fine the only issue I had was with the virgin sim that I have not used yet and had it since last Monday.

I've worked it out now. You have to turn on find my iPhone. And login with your Apple ID and password. It will then let the sim work. But this then has to be done each time you swap it back to another network.

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting. Sorry about this.

 

If your handset is locked as a result of inserting the purple SIM then you need to have it unlocked. We do this by completing a form which is then sent directly to EE to unlock.

 

I believe you've had the form completed and the handset should be unlocked now. Let me know if you have any further difficulties.

Hi Rich,

I seem to be having the same problem as the other guy too.

My new replacement Virgin SIM arrived, put it in, and it comes up with 'SIM not Supported'. 

But I have always been with Virgin on this phone, took my old SIM out, put the new 1 in, and nothing?? My old SIM has been deactivated too =/ so without a phone!
