Virgin Data Abroad

Can someone explain this to me. Usually I wouldn't need to use my mobile abroad, other than on wifi. But the golf trip we are on we all need data to input our scores into this leaderboard app.

Anyway:

on the Virgin site it says you can buy a travel pass which is £6 for 50MB. It says: Browsing online. (Of course, if you’re travelling in the EU, all you pay for is the cost of your Travel Pass – and you’re all set!). I spoke to Virgin and they said that they will warn you when you get to 70% etc of your limit.

I also questioned what happens if I don't buy a travel pass, the woman on the phone said it was £1 for 100MB per day.

Surely it is therefore more cost effective not to buy the pass? I would get 600MB compared to 50MB under the travel pass?

Confused. Can anyone help?

Re: Virgin Data Abroad

EU travel passes are the following to date :
Mobile Web 10MB Travel Pass = £1.40 Text 'BUY 10MB' to 23456
50MB Travel Pass = £6 Text 'BUY 50MB' to 23456
250MB Travel Pass = £20 Text 'BUY 250MB' to 23456

you wouldn't be able to use data in the EU without a pass I believe

Re: Virgin Data Abroad

Hi JaguarSkills,

the £1 for upto 100MB upto 1 day is the cost of data outside any allowance here in the UK.

Re: Virgin Data Abroad

Hi all

I was under the impression that it was £1 for the data regardless of data used for that day. I also checked with a couple of my contacts in the Customer service team who confirmed the same.

Where as Pay as you go customers only get upto 100MB for £1 upto 1 day.
