Why does VM network not work in Cuba, when other networks do?, irritating that I was the only person in our group who could not send a text, when Vodafone & 02 work perfectly.
To add insult to injury, we traveled by Virgin Atlantic, who texted me that our return flight was delayed, a text that I only received when I got back home (Doh).
for Pay Monthly customers it should do.
Virgin's partner network there is Cubacel.
Did you set your account for roaming before you left the UK and perform a network search on your phone whilst you were there?
Mind you with these call charges I don't think I would want to use my Virgin phone:
Making a Call £4.00 (per minute)Receiving a Call £1.00 (per minute)Sending an SMS £1.00

actually for Virgin PAYG customers roaming is on by default but unfortunately as you've found, not supported in Cuba
Dosent really answer my question, its just admitting VM is inferior to some networks in Cuba, obviously not many people will worry about this, but still annoying when you want to send an "arrived safely" text.!
