I have a S6 and have turned my mobile data so I use WiFi only. Unfortunately this t h end will not allow me to use WiFi. I have turned phone off and on again and used the online help return off mobile data but can't turn roaming off which I do not need.
Last year I just turned the mobile dataoff and it worked fine on my face plus.
Can anyone help please as I need to keep in touch with family using WiFi - thanks
I have no problem connecting to various WiFi networks using my tablet as we are travelling. In previous trips using a Galaxy ace plus I just switched my mobile data off and it worked fine with no huge charges but this time with S6 and roaming I have incurred large charges which I a m unhappy with. I have switched roaming off and cannot use WiFi even though I have successfully connected
I have today spoken to the virgin mobile team by telephone without success. I can access WiFi using my tablet so know this isn't the problem. I was advised to switch Roaming and mobile data off which I had already done. I was also advised to Backup and reset which I have done and then switch off the phone for 5 minutes this I have done 3 times without any change only that when I switch on again mobile data is switched.
I have noticed when clicking on backup and reset I am not convinced n iced that it is working as the box that I click does not change I have also received emails that I have used my data up -and do I require more.
After having phone switched off for 2 days ( I was really fed up by this time) I switched on and it seemed to right itself. I checked that mobile data and roaming was switched off and all seems fine. Just so fed up it took so long to get sorted. WiFi is working fine
