Unwanted premium texts £3 each!

Hi,

Has anyone had text messages from a premium service they didn't sign up to? I have had several texts in the last month that are random messages with a link in.

I have deleted them each time as it isn't anything I have signed up to but have been charged £3 per text. How can I stop them? Can I get my money back for the charges?

Many Thanks

Re: Unwanted premium texts £3 each!

Hi,

you could try texting back “STOP ALL” to end the service.

If this doesn’t work you can complain to PhonePayPlus - 0300 30 300 20
They are the UK regulator for premium rate SMS.

hi bagpuss76

Deleting the messages wouldn't stop or unsubscribe your from their service

normally they text you froma 6 digit "shortcode" or a number starting with 700######

if you post the number then we can try and get a resolution for you

Re: Unwanted premium texts £3 each!

I have just found out that the company is called Global Awareness Ltd and have a contact number for them of 0203 598 1581.

The Short number they use is 78113.

Will let you know how I get on!

Thanks
