Unable to send/receive mms

I have a Sony xperia z5 compact and it has been fine sending and receiving mms since I have had it but the last week I can't send or receive mms. I have checked the apn and that's all correct, I have downloaded and installed Internet and mms settings and my mobile data and WiFi ate both on but I still can not receive or send. I've been advised to do a back up and restore which I have just done but that hasn't worked either anybody have any idea as to what I can do or try next? I dint fancy another hour on the phone to Virgin for it not to work. Thanks x

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

The usual advice from the staff on here is to try sending yourself an MMS to fix such problems.

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

Hi yes I have sent messages to myself numerous times but it just saves as a draft and says could not send like it does when I Try to send a picture message to anybody else. Numerous conversations with different people who work for Virgin and just keep getting passed from one person to another!

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

Are you able to disable Wi-FI and just try and use Mobile data to see if this works NuttyNat1909906? If that doesn't work, can you also let me know if you're able to browse okay via Mobile Data?

Let me know as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

Hi yes tried all that and mobile data is working fine without WiFi but still can't send/receive mms. Spoken on the phone again with Virgin to be passed from one person to another to be told to do a soft reboot in my phone and someone would call me back within the hour. Well I'm still waiting for the phone call back and the soft reboot did nothing either still unable to send/receive mms

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

Thanks for your reply Smiley Happy

Are you able to let me know the APN settings in the Wireless and Networks > More Settings > Access point names?

I just want to make sure that the MMS settings are 100% correct.

Let me know as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Unable to send/receive mms

Hi, My wife has this problem too. Rather than start my own thread, I was wondering if someone could also check her settings please?

As an aside, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but her mobile numer in her contacts starts with 00447 rather than just 07. Is there anyway that this can get changed??

Settings:-

NAME- Virgin media Int
APN- goto.virginmobile.uk
PROXY- not set
PORT- not set
USERNAME- user
PASSWORD- not set
SERVER- not set
MMSC- Not set
MMS PROXY- Not set
MMS PORT- Not set
MCC- 234
MNC- 30
AUTHENTICATION TYPE- PAP
APN TYPE- default,supl
APN PROTOCOL- Ipv4
APN ROAMING PROTOCOL- Ipv4
APN ENABLED (greyed out)
BEARER- unspecified (greyed out)
MVNO TYPE- None
MVNO VALUE- Not set (greyed out).

It should be pointed out she is also on a contract, not payg, if that makes any difference. Phone is an Xperia M2 and she has just recently upgraded to lollipop.

Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Mark
