UK Calling - 0800 numbers "free" from 1 July 2015 - is this metered?

From 1 July 2015, 0800 calls will be "free". My VM contract gives me 100 minutes per month. If I call an 0800 number and the call lasts, say, six minutes, will that cost me six of my 100 minutes allowance?

On a lot of 0800 numbers if you take off the first zero you still get the call free of charge, it will tell you if it is still going to charge you. I.E 800 instead of 0800

Thanks, I didn't know that. By the way, I wasn't worried that they were going to charge me. I just wanted to check that they weren't going to munch into my minutes allowance.

In a fair and altruistic world, it would never have occurred to me to ask. I would have assumed that "free" meant "no deduction from minutes allowance". But this isn't a fair and altruistic world, so I thought it wiser to check.
