Text from Virgin

I have just received a text from Virgin which means nothing to me. It reads: "YGIBSmiley Very Happy TAG: 136187221649902". Anyone know what this means?

Re: Text from Virgin

Hi Johndesty,

Thanks for your post Smiley Happy

Sorry for any confusion caused by the text. The YGIB tag stands for You Get It Back. This is related to our Virgin Mobile insurance. Have you recently taken out or made changes to your policy?

Let me know when you can.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Text from Virgin

Why are these texts being sent out? I thought the Mobile Rescue app which feeds off the YGIB text has been discontinued.

Re: Text from Virgin

Hi Gorf,

The Mobile rescue app was officially removed today.

I just want to make sure there were no policy changes or anything else on the account Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Text from Virgin

Hi Matt,

I must say the sending out texts that no one can understand is crazy. The only thing was that I upgraded my phone from a ZTE Blade V to a LG Spirit. I must say that the people I spoke to when I renewed my contract were particularly unhelpful and I stupidly found myself paying more for much less.

A lot of apps intercept text messages that are intended for the app, not the human. Facebook is an example. I only found this out when I was checking why the FB app wanted access to my texts.

If the app is not installed, then the text is not intercepted and gets displayed to the user.
