Termination fee of £16 (30-day SIM-only contract)

My girlfriend has moved abroad recently and now she wants to end the 30-day contract. She's been disconnected 5 times already when she called VM only to be told told that there is £16 fee for ending the contract.

Where does is say there's a fee of £16?

And how to end that contract other than calling and being disconnected?

Re: Termination fee of £16 (30-day SIM-only contract)

Hi Draak,

it's necessary to phone in for a cancellation (789 from a Virgin mobile or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone).

You are required to give 30 days notice of cancellation - perhaps this is what the £16 is for, your final month?

Too add on Alex's answer, if she has taken the sim with her - there may be roaming charges on the account that need paying.

Re: Termination fee of £16 (30-day SIM-only contract)

Thank you for your answers. The calls were made with non-UK SIM card so no roaming charges could be applied. On the top of that, her current bill is less than £16.

She's finally called with UK SIM card and successfully cancelled the contract. No fee was introduced this time.
